Post I 24 Overpass
Today I saw a Coopertown police car parked on the east side of the bridge. Nothing wrong with that. People do have a tendency to go a little faster if they think the police won't be around. Then I saw one on the west side of the bridge. Talk about deja vu! Still nothing wrong with that as long as it's for the safety of the overpass and not Crosbynomics.

No it is not deja vu or Crosbynomics it is called doing their job! There has been several complaints and request by citizens and motorist! Mostly about people who do not understand you have to merge due to the lane change and people speeding and cutting people off exiting the interstate. The complaints and request that they be there at certain times of the day and the report's show it is working.

Post Re: I 24 Overpass
I did not want to call in and complain but I thought about it as several times someone doing somewhere in the 60 mph or higher neighborhood came by me. I noticed they had Cheatham County tags on two occasions going to PV from Springfield. Different cars but same Chetham county tags. Plus, I have noticed occasionally having to move over to the far right as people fly off I-24 from the Clarksville side. I did not call because I don't want to see the Crosby style come back into vogue but sometimes you just gotta sit there and slow those knuckleheads down. I am no slow poke by any means and I am not innocent of being over 35 but 60 is pushing it way too hard in my opinion. I feel like 60 was the approximate speed if I was doing 45 and got blown off the road as they passed on the double yellow around the area where the pond is before the big dip leading to the Gas stations and BBQ. That type of behavior is dangerous and needs some patrols covering it for safety. But please, don't go after everything moving over 40, just the crazy stuff that makes everyone feel unsafe. I am sure the mere presence of a patrol car on a regular basis will not only end that but save some lives. We don't have to make 2 million off of the ticketing to make it safer there. We just need some appearances by a marked car and those people will get the hint real quick if they are smart.

Looks like we are slipping back to "The not so Good Old Days"! I predict within 6 months they will be slipping back to the I-24 patrol and go on from there. I wondered when I heard the ex sargent is in constant phone contact with Sam & the Chief how long it would be before they started up again. I can't wait to hear the story presented on this one! :P

Well Ma David Cole calls on a regular bases wanting to come back. But I have heard he can call all he wants but he is taking precious time away from other things that need their attention. He will not get a job back at CPD no matter what happens. Cole made a lot of enemies and put a black an blue face on Coopertown. As far as the interstate will not happen! The mayor and board feel it is the responsibility of THP. Then due to budget restraints and possible cutting of THP downsizing there may never be any patrol on I-24. It is sad that the city of Coopertown can't do there job because the past still haunts us due to stupidy and greed, and inappropriate actions.

I just hope we are not getting back to the days of all the Police cars hanging out @ 49 & I-24 so when something happens in the other end of Coopertown they get a second rate response. That was what turned most of the people at this end of the City against the way the Police Department was being run. We could care less about whether people speeding on the interstate or bridge got tickets, we wanted to see the Police in our neighborhood. I hope Ma was wrong & they don't slip back into that habit again.
